People always talks about cause and effect.
Which side you are on?
Are you at the cause of everything in your life, or are you a victim of external forces?
Do you make things happen or do things happen to you?
You have a choice every single day to let your life just roll on without aim, or take charge.
For myself, I found that the day I started to blame myself for everything that happened in my life, was the day I started making massive progress.
To be clear – I don’t mean beating up on yourself and making yourself feel like crap.
I mean acknowledging that you have control over 99.9% of the things and outcomes that happen in your life.
As soon as you say you can’t control anything in the situation, you are relinquishing your responsibility.
It’s a cop out.
You’re saying that you can’t affect the situation.
The problem with saying you can’t do anything about it, is that you DON’T do anything about it.
You wipe your hands of responsibility and play the victim.
You’re going to get curve balls in life, it’s a given.
You can choose to sit there and ask ‘Why me?’
Or you can look at the situation and think, ‘How could I have avoided this?’
What could I have done on my end to prevent/improve this situation?
It’s incredibly empowering.
Try it out this week.
Something shit happens, look at what you can do on your end to fix it instead of being a victim.
You can’t control where the car goes in the passenger seat.
Hope everyone has a solid week.
Take responsibility for everything this week and see how it feels.
